Sage Secondary User Conversion Checklist
Converting from a Primary to a Secondary Sage User is an annual-window project with hard deadlines. This checklist walks the timeline so you do not miss the January 31 request or stall in 837 testing.

- Confirm you are a SAPC-contracted DMC-ODS provider and decide Primary vs Secondary
- Submit the official Primary-to-Secondary conversion request by January 31
- Confirm which companion guide applies: 837I for Withdrawal Management 3.7/4.0, 837P for all other services
- Prepare your EHR to generate 837P/837I files to the SAPC companion-guide format
- Begin 837 testing in the TRAIN environment by March 31 (two staff contacts create and submit files)
- Complete testing by June 30
- Submit live-environment claims until you reach at least an 80% adjudication approval rate
- Receive your Sage Secondary Provider certificate from SAPC
