SmartCare (behavioral health)
SmartCare is a semi-statewide electronic health record offered through the California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA). In San Diego County it replaced SanWITS on September 1, 2024 as the county record for the SUD System of Care, and it is the county EHR for the mental health system as well. Providers running their own EHR are not exempt; the county requires dual entry of client data, state reporting, and billing into SmartCare.
