Minnesota Statutes chapter 245G is the licensing chapter for substance use disorder treatment programs, governing assessment, treatment planning, staff qualifications, documentation, and service delivery; withdrawal management programs are licensed separately under chapter 245F. Minnesota's 2025 legislation amended 245G.07 to restructure SUD services around ASAM criteria, replacing the old treatment-service structure with ASAM-aligned service types, effective July 1, 2026 or upon federal approval, with a DHS operational go-live of August 1, 2026.
